DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURE 4.0
We’ve teamed up with industry giant DESMA to bring you a competition centred around the future of manufacturing. DESMA's automated technologies are already being utilized by the world's biggest brands to optimise their manufacturing process for a quick and more sustainable production.
Our aim is to break down barriers for the community, giving access to a ground breaking technology usually reserved for the top producing brands.
Not only will our competition sponsors provide exclusive guidelines and insights to the tech, they've also committed to produce a limited run of the winning design. As well as receiving their own pair, the winning designer will also be showcased by DESMA at one of the world's biggest shoe tech events this year!
-DESIGN THE NEXT FUTURE FORM SNEAKER USING DIRECT INJECTION-
DESMA's direct injection process allows up to entire shoes to be produced in a single material and process, enabling a circular product lifecycle. This also gives us a new creative freedom, where the boundaries between upper and outsole can be explored in new ways without the limitations of traditional manufacturing techniques (no stitching or cementing!). In LC22, you are challenged to design the next future form leisure sneaker using a maximum of 2 technologies, direct injection (mandatory) and a 3D knit (optional).
